Select your vehicle to see the options available

Roof bars are a great way to increase your car’s carrying capacity, allowing you to transport more items on your trips. Whether you're going camping, enjoying water sports, or moving home, roof bars and rails let you take more gear in one go.

We offer a wide range of roof bars. It’s important to pick the right ones for your car, as each model has different types of roof rails. Our selection includes roof bars for all vehicles, including Audi, BMW, and Land Rover. To find the right bars for your car, you can shop by manufacturer.

Know your roof rails

In order for your roof bars to fit properly to your vehicle you need to know which kind of rails you have, if any at all. The easiest way to check compatibility is to use our roof bar finder above so you only see bars for your vehicle.

If however, your vehicle isn't listed, there are essentially six different ways of fixing roof bars to your vehicle, depending on your rails as shown below. If you have raised roof rails then you need to choose bars suitable for this fixing or they wont fit.

Raised Roof

Raised Roof Rails

You'll be able to fit your hands underneath these rails.

Flush Roof

Solid Roof Rails

Raised off the roof, but no gap to fit your hand through.

Fixed Point

Fixed Point

No rail, but small plates that lift up to attach roof bar feet.

No rails or fix points

No rails or fix points (gutterless)

Roof bars will clamp to the bodywork in this case.

T-Track

T-Track

A channel in the roof with a slot running full length.

Gutter

Gutter

A few cars have old fashioned gutters, such as Landrovers.

Different Roof Bar Explained

Roof rails are the foundation for attaching roof bars or racks, allowing you to carry more luggage on the roof of your car. These rails come in different styles

Raised Roof Rails: These are higher than the roof, creating a gap between the rail and the roof. Common on SUVs, they make it easy to fit roof bars designed for this type of rail.

Flush-Mounted Roof Rails: These rails sit flat against the roof, with no gap. They provide a sleek, smooth look but may need special adapters for roof bars to be attached.

T Tracks: These rails have grooves that run along the roof, giving an adjustable setup. Roof bars must be designed to fit into these tracks to be securely attached.

Fixed Point Roof Rails: These have fixed points where roof bars can be mounted. Sometimes these points are hidden under flaps or covers but are made for secure attachment of roof bars.

Clamped Around the Bodywork: If your car doesn’t have rails, tracks, or fixed points, roof bars can be attached using clamps. These clamps fit around the car's bodywork, often securing to the door frames.

Older Cars with Traditional Gutters: If your car has rain gutters just below the roof, you can use a gutter-mounted system. This involves using special mounts that latch onto the gutters, keeping the roof bars in place.

What Roof Bar Will Fit My Car?

Choosing the right roof bar for your vehicle involves considering the make, model, and year, as roof bars are designed to fit specific cars. You'll also need to know your car’s roof type—whether it has a bare roof, raised rails, flush rails, or fixed points. It’s important to think about what you'll be carrying (like bicycles or luggage) and the roof's load capacity.
